So the other day my friend invited me to go ride with her on one of her horses, and Austin tagged along with me and watched us, and has now realized maybe buying a foal was the wrong choice for him, and we've been debating selling his filly "Farrah" and getting his self a broke horse which I was all for, it's what I wanted him to do from the beginning cause I know myself how hard it is to learn when there learning too.
Anyways, we're been debating this for a while now, and now a nice mare has come up for sale and looks awesome, she's not local so its hard to go view her so I'd been talking to the lady online and we're really considering buying her, I have bought foals online and have had great experiences but I'm not sure if I'm missing any questions or concerns, I don't want to drive the lady crazy with dumb questions, but yeah.. any advice? Has anyone else boughten a broke horse online?.. was it a good or bad experience?
I saw a video of her being ridden and she looks good, they didn't lope her which I'm assuming it because of the ground, and have asked her for other videos of her being tacked, her feet being handled exc..

Is she anywhere that one of us has friends who can go look for you also? I would ask about the lope - never assume anything!!

I asked her about her lope, it was the condition of the ground, it's her friend horse so she personally hasn't loped her, she doesn't think she knows leads as she's been used as a trails horse. She's on the other side of 100 mile house. I don't know anyone down there sadly.

Hmmm... Elli Meinert is down in Lac La Hache... she is a PGRHA member if you wanted to ask her? Just a thought.
I dunno, if I was really interested I think I would just take a drive down there... far better to make sure you get the right horse the first time than put Austin off horses for good. Just my thought...

The lady sent me a bunch of videos today, her being caught, trotting behind a four wheeler, being saddled, feet bring picked up, bridle exc and everything looked great, minus I think she's in need of a good floating, and getting her wolf teeth removed, but other then that a lot of promise, couple people know her and said she's a very honest lady so we went a head with the sale, she'll be here on Thursday!

well Tramp has been here now for just over two weeks, and everything worked out good! She has settled in with the filly's nicely, I got to ride her twice at an indoor arena before bringing her home to get a feel for her, and have had her outside a couple time since our weather has finally started to warm up! she does need a bit of work on some things to make me more comfortable with her and Austin like a whoa, she's got energy so she doesn't like to stop unless you pull her to one and soon as you release the pressure she's already going, so that's my biggest issues with her, which I know it will work its self out with time, so I think I did well buying sight unseen from the internet, she's a very sweet mare other wise!

She came from Crystal waters quest ranch from Bridge Lake, which is on the other side of 100 mile. Now I'm patiently waiting the ice to melt so I can actually start riding her!
